ZGAP

Zoologische Gesellschaft für Arten- und Populationsschutz e.V.
[Zoological Society for the Conservation of Species and Populations]
The ZGAP was founded in 1982 by a small group of dedicated conservationists in Munich and shortly thereafter by the Munich tax office recognized as particularly worthy of support. The aim of the Society is primarily the preservation of little-known endangered species and protecting their habitats. While the risk of extinction of mountain gorillas, giant pandas and Java rhinos already widely known of the natural population is interested, there are thousands of highly endangered species, whose names are familiar even experts often barely. For lack of knowledge even in the last few years - even great - species died out, unnoticed by the public.
