Zoological Survey of India
The Zoological Survey of India, the only taxonomic organization in the country involved in the study of all kinds of animals from Protozoa to Mammalia, occurring in all possible habitats from deepest depth of the ocean to the peaks of Himalaya. It was established on 1st July, 1916 with 16 regional centres to promote survey, exploration and research leading to the advancement in our knowledge of the various aspects of the exceptionally rich animal life.
